There are three ways to get a Polycom Soundpoint 650 IP connected to a STARFACE Server

STARFACE Network Scan

STARFACE is able to scan your network or parts of your network for Polycom Phones and configure them automatically. For this way of connecting phones to STARFACE please consider our separate manual:

HOWTO - Automatic Configuration of VoIP-Phones

Manual Configuration

For configuring a Polycom SIP-phone you have to access the phone's webserver by entering the phone's IP-Address into your Browser. Polycom SIP-Phone runs his webserver on the default HTTP-Port 80.

The default HTTP-Authorization for Polycom Soundpoint IP650:
username: Polycom
password: 456

Topmenu > 'SIP'

Screen polycom-soundstation-sip.gif

Annotation:
Address = STARFACE IP-Address
Port = STARFACE SIP-Port (default: 5060)

Enter your own parameters in both areas "Outbound Proxy" and "Server 1".
Other fields can be left empty or rather be left to the default values.

Topmenu > 'Lines'

Screen polycom-soundstation-lines.gif

Annotation:
Display Name = STARFACE phone name
Address = STARFACE phone name
Auth User ID = STARFACE phone name
Auth Password = STARFACE phone password
Label = STARFACE phone name

Other fields can be left empty or rather be left to the default values.

Auto-Provisioning

NOTE:
Auto-Provisioning is currently not supported by STARFACE PBX, but we have this feature already on our roadmap.
Nevertheless if you have to setup and maintain more than just a few phones it could be useful to you use Auto-Provisioning via config-files on a tftp-server.

We will add here some example files and a short review of this technique soon, so far there's a whitepaper from Polycom
